The questionnaire survey technique was adopted as the research method and a self-designed “questionnaire about parents’ demands and willingness to participate in parents education programs” was used as the research instrument to perform stratified cluster sampling on parents whose children study in the elementary school. Further, statistical analyses by means of descriptive statistics, t test, one-way ANOVA, and Apriori were performed on collected data to reach the following conclusions: 1. In terms of what parent education programs are needed by parents, parents need programs which teach “parenting knowledge and skills”. 2. In terms of the arrangement of parent education programs, parents prefer one-way parent education programs. 3. The main three factors which enhanced parents’ willingness to participate in parent education programs were “having better understanding of children’s life at school”; “ the contents of parent education programs can meet parents’ needs”; “the activities which were provided by the parent education program were emphasized to solve parenting issues. 4. The content of parent education programs which parents need varies in accordance with “the grade of children” and “the extent of parent-children interactions”. “The grade of children”, “parental educational attainment”, and “family type” make a difference on parents’ willingness to participate in parent education programs. 5. A total of 21 patterns of correlation were found by performing data mining on parents’ willingness and need to participate in parent education programs.
