Shihman Hikers. Analyze the difference of background variables and the intention to mountain hiking on three variables and clarify the perdition from motivation, participation, confliction, adjustment to place attachment. By using convenience sampling, we surveyed hill hikers who are over fifteen years old in Mt. Shihman. From a total of 450 questionnaires, 440 questionnaires were valid with efficiency of approximately 97.7%. Hypothesis was evaluated by analyzing the results with T-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Multiple Regression Analysis, Cluster Analysis. Then we interviewed five hill hikers. The following conclusions were reached: 1. The respondents were females, married, age among 46~55, university education degree, worker, Taoyuan citizens. In the variables of marriage, salary, career, education degree, traffics, hiking information and partners, the volunteers had significant difference on the leisure motivation. 2. On leisure motivation part, the highest is healthy concern, and then pressure relaxing. On participation part, attraction is the highest and next one is self-expression. On the part of confliction, the highest is Ecology environment, and then facility management. On the coping behavior part, the highest is rationalization and then displacement. On place attachment, the highest is place identity, the lowest is place rootedness. 3. Study shows significant difference of marital status, average monthly income, creer, transport, hiking information, hiking companions on leisure motivation. 4. Study shows significant difference of age, marriage, education degree, career, mountaineering community participation, mountaineering time, transport, hiking times, hiking companion, month to Mt. Shihman count on leisure participation. 5. Study shows significant difference of different habitation, age, education degree, average monthly income, creer, club-joined, the time of mountain hiking, traffics, information, hiking frequency, hiking time, hiking spend time on recreation conflict and coping behavior. 6. Study shows the variables of hikers on leisure motivation, leisure participation, recreation confliction, coping behavior have predictive significantly power to place attachment. Base on the results, suggestions were proposed as reference for relevant units and the subsequent researchers.
