Summary: | 碩士 === 佛光大學 === 心理學系 === 103 === Whether the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and amygdala involved in the acquisition, extinction, and renewal effects remains unknown. Recently, some studies have shown that the mPFC- amygdala pathway might play a crucial role in fear conditioning, stress, anxiety and extinction. The purpose of the present proposal addresses this issue. We use a 0.1% saccharin solution to pair with the isotonic LiCl to form conditioned taste aversion (CTA). We administered the high concentration (20mg/ml) of NMDA into the mPFC or amygdala to destroy the functions of the mPFC and amygdala, respectively, and thereby test the LiCl-induced conditioned suppression during acquisition, extinction, and renewal effects. Further, The tresults showed that: (a). the amygdala involved in acquisition and renewal effect phases, but did not play a role in extinction phase. (b). The mPFC did not mediate acquisition, extinction, and renewal effects. The present findings might offer some insights to studies related to extinction of conditioned learning.
