With the impact of the Japanese idol group, "Regiment of Boys"(しょうねんたい), a great number of idol groups in Taiwan emerged by the end of the 1980s. A new atmosphere was formed in the Chinese pop music circle. Talent in singing was no longer the essential condition, but the fresh, healthy and active images of pretty boys and girls. Meanwhile, the music genres began to vary for this generation. In detail, pop music no longer focused on auditions, but more on the visual appeal of performers. The performance of a group can be traced in the pop music history of Taiwan. "Little Tigers" is the first successful case of a boy group in Taiwan. They not only led the trend of being followed by many fans, but became an important symbol in Taiwan’s mandarin music industry. Based on the case of "Little Tigers", the paper selected the 6 most popular songs from their ten albums as the samples, and analyzed the factors of success from literature reviews, expecting to explain the phenomenon of idol groups.
