Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 經濟學系碩士班 === 103 === Using the data from Panel Study of Family Dynamics (PSFD), we attempt to find the determinants of different types of employment by Heckman’s two-stage estimation method and multinomial logit model. The empirical results can be summarized as follows:(1) Male workers, with higher educational level, with young children (under 6 years old) tend to engage in monthly-salary jobs. (2) The different factors to choose a monthly-salary job or an hourly/daily-salary job include the marital status, the number of kids and the age structure of kids. (3) Monthly wage rates are positively related to ages, higher educational level, current seniority and place of working in Taipei. In particular, the educational attainment and the seniority of current job have positive effects on hourly/daily wage rates. (4) Gender, married, ages, education, number of kids and wages are the important factors affecting the probabilities of different types of employment.
