Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 國際創業與經營管理學程碩士在職專班 === 103 === The performance of female entrepreneurs is an area of research that has
attracted considerable attention over the past three decades. Previously, the focus
of entrepreneurship studies was on male entrepreneurs. Because the study of
entrepreneurship in general is marked by ambiguities in definitions and practical
application of theory, and because research on female entrepreneurs is still in its
formative stages, it is valuable to validate existing theory through application to
historical case studies. Much of the literature focuses on understanding the factors
preventing female entrepreneurs from succeeding. This research study chose
instead to study three exceptionally successful female entrepreneurs to test
whether educational attainment, childhood family experience, personality traits,
and work history influenced their motivation and performance as entrepreneurs.
This study found that they did have a significant influence on the three
entrepreneurs studied, although in different proportions. Findings are then used
draw conclusions on significance for managerial implications.
