It is important to study the relationship among these three components in teachers’ career and lives. The main purpose of this study is to discuss the relationship between leisure activity, teaching effectiveness and well-being of junior high school teachers. In this study, 378 junior high school teachers in New Taipei City participated the survey of leisure activity, teaching effectiveness and well-being with random cluster sampling method. The questionnaires—“teachers’ leisure activity participation scale”, “teachers’ teaching effectiveness scale” and “teachers’ well-being scale”—were designed by referring to previous articles, associated theories and empirical research, as well as by consulting with researchers and teachers with practical teaching experiences. We used “the relationship among leisure activity, teaching effectiveness and well-being of junior high school teachers” pretest questionnaire to conduct reliability and validity analysis, and to revise the questionnaire. Next, we used “the relationship between leisure activity, teaching effectiveness and well-being of junior high school teachers” formal questionnaire to conduct analysis, including descriptive statistics, one-way analysis of variance and Pearson product-moment correlation analysis. The following is the main research results: 1.In “teachers’ leisure activity participation scale”, the teachers in public junior high schools in New Taipei City had the highest level of agreement on “knowledge type” but lower level of agreement on “sports type”; in “teachers’ teaching effectiveness scale”, the teachers had the highest average level of agreement on “classroom climate” but the lowest average level of agreement on “teaching assessment”; in “teachers’ well-being scale”, the teachers had the highest average level of agreement on “personal characteristics” but the lowest average level of agreement on “demand satisfaction”. 2.In “teachers’ leisure activity participation scale”, the most participated leisure activity was: using internet sources and consumer electronics. In “teachers’ teaching performance scale”, the item with the highest average score was: I can keep good teacher-student relationship. In “teachers’ well-being scale”, the item with the highest average score was: I like to help others. 3.Teachers with different “age”, “position”, “marital status” and “seniority” had significantly different level of participation in “teachers’ leisure activity participation scale”. In “teachers’ teaching effectiveness scale”, no significant difference was noted within different “gender”, “age”, “position”, “highest education”, “marital status”, “seniority” and “school scale”. In “teachers’ well-being scale”, significant differences were noted in different “seniority”. 4.Significantly positive correlation was noted between “leisure activity participation”, “teaching effectiveness” and “well-being” of teachers in public junior high schools in New Taipei City.
