A variety of treatment programs have been implemented in accordance with different acts to correct the behavior. This study asks the following questions: How do Youth at risk behave? What choices do they make after dropping out of school? What choices are made after receiving 1–2 years of community or institutional treatment? This study discusses the life experiences of Youth at risk, experience during treatment, and the choices made after treatments. A total of 12 semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 at-risk youths in Hsinchu about the life choices they made. The main findings were as follows: 1.At-risk youth remain at high risk even after a criminal case has been closed. 2.Competitive environments and punishments received during treatments did not contribute to positive decision making. 3.The care received during treatments contributed to positive decision making. 4.If a need arises after a case is closed, they may still opt towards deviant behavior. 5.If they understand the significance of the treatments after the case is closed, then it plays a fundamental and powerful role in helping making future positive decisions. This study focused on the points mentioned above. The intention of this study is to serve as guidance for social workers who work with Youth at risk. CHAO, MEI-YING 趙美盈 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 194 zh-TW
