Research on the Settlement Preservation Factors under Cultural Landscape Context – A Case Study on Chyonglin Quemoy

碩士 === 國立金門大學 === 建築學系 === 103 === The concept of cultural landscape attracts many scholars in different fields and makes them study on this concept. Taiwan has added landscape item to Cultural Heritage Preservation Act in the law amendment in 2005, which could reveal that annotating and exploiting regional-based cultural assets from the perspective of cultural landscape may become the striving direction for the preservation of local cultures and settlements in the future. This study investigats on how traditional settlements in Chyonglin Quemoy sought for catalysts, settlement cultural landscape factors, which could lead traditional perspectives to change under the real conflicts between “historic preservation” and “settlement development” , in the context of cultural landscape. To search for the possibilities for preserving the traditions of Quemoy, the architectures of preservation factors among the particularity of traditional settlement should be identified and then the identification architecture to identify cultural landscape preservation factors of traditional settlements in Quemoy could be proposed via the clear definition for the significant historic preservation elements and settlement landscape factors of Quemoy traditional settlement case. Five landscape preservation factors: “nature & culture category”, “lifestyle industry category”, “war relic category”, “vernacular architecture” and “culture of belief category” have already been sorted out in research results. The preservation concepts and meanings of each factor have been described simultaneously to support the factor identification system. It is hoped that Chyonglin traditional settlement could lay emphasis on these factors. Also, Chyonglin traditional settlement could serve as a model for other settlements in Quemoy since Chyonglin has provided the basic information for cultural landscape researches and the establishment of the criteria for settlement preservation, which allows the local history and livings to last longer.
