Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 模具系碩士在職專班 === 103 === The experiment was conducted to investigate the contrast of wear down between a brand new and an used horseshoes. Non-contact measurement was applied for this experiment. An ultrasonic detection equipment was applied to scan the whole surface contacted to ground. If there is no any contact to the contact area, which detected by the waves from ultrasonic detection equipment, the waves will entirely reflect and received by the detection equipment. If there is contact, some of the waves will be transmitted to the horseshoes. The signal reflected to the detection equipment will attenuate and we can understand the degree of contact. The experiment recorded the contact area and the contact ratio and compared the differences. The result indicated that, the contact surface would be within 3600mm2 to 3900mm2. The contact surface of a horseshoe used for one month would be within 1700mm2 to 2100mm2. With the smaller area horseshoe contacted the ground, the more serious the horseshoe wore down, and the longer duration the horseshoe could be used. And we could validate the contact area was proportional to the level how the horse wear the shoes.
