This study was not only to explore the parents’ intention and behavior in using instant message software to communicate with the teachers, but also to examine the relationship among the External variables, ex. information sharing, real-time interacting, price value, facilitating conditions etc., the Perceived usefulness, the Perceived ease of use, the Behavioral intention and the Usage behavior with Technology Acceptance Model, TAM. Literature review and questionnaires named “A study of the kindergarten parents using instant message software, Line, for parent-teacher communication” are used to conduct the research. Questionnaires were distributed 660, returned 648, and there are a total of 631 valid questionnaires. After the questionnaires were collected, the researcher applied the statistical analysis software, Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) to analyze the data with the statistical methods including data descriptive statistics analysis, reliability and validity analysis, independent-sample t-test, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, and regression analysis. This study hopes to achieve the following research purposes: 1. To understand the current condition of the parents’ using instant message software, Line, for parent-teacher communication in the kindergartens. 2. To understand if there were any influences from the different background factors for the parents to accept using instant message software, Line, for parent-teacher communication. 3. To understand the relationship between the behavioral intention and usage behavior of the parents’ using instant message software, Line, for parent-teacher communication in the kindergartens. The main findings of this study are as follow: 1. The participants using instant message software, Line, for parent-teacher communication currently are the mothers in the age of 31-39, and they mainly use mobile phones to communicate with teachers by sending Line messages for parent-teacher communication. 2. Information sharing, instant interacting and perceived ease of use have a positive influence on perceived usefulness. 3. Perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and facilitating conditions have a positive influence on behavioral intention. 4. Behavioral intention has a positive influence on usage behavior. 5. Price value has no insignificant influences on perceived usefulness. In fact, there were few researches about the teachers’ using instant message software, Line, for parent-teacher communication currently. Through this study, the researchers could learn more about the possibility to use the new information media scene in the practical application of teaching; besides, this study also could be the references for the kindergartens’ teachers to make the choices of the communication channels for parent-teacher communication.
