博士 === 銘傳大學 === 應用中國文學系博士班 === 103 === The purpose of this study is to develop practical, interesting, and knowledgeable methodology and materials for teaching Chinese Classics to speakers of other languages by combining the principles of ESL and multimedia assisted tools. Specifically, this study will include the following: create the curriculum models, design the teaching materials and develop teaching modules. Based on the collections of related papers and the teaching experiences of the researcher, this study attempts to do the following: investigate curriculum design, compare current materials, and understand the most effective teaching strategies. This study has six chapters and fifteen sections, with appendix and reference. The amount of total characters is about 130,000. The introductions are as follows: Chapter 1’s introduction is about motivation and purpose of this study. It includes documents, discussion and research methods. Chapter 2 is about the development of teaching Chinese Classics. It emphasizes the contents, goals, and teaching methods for Chinese mother tongue learners, compared to foreign learners. Chapter 3 discusses teaching theories and methodology. Chapter 4 outlines the research and design of teaching materials. Chapter 5 is about course design and teaching strategies. Chapter 6 concludes with suggestions in two areas: teaching application and future curriculum design. Hope to contribute for future study.
