Besides routine specialized training, the treatment group also took 8 weeks of core muscle training (3 times a week, 30 minutes per time), while the control group only underwent routine specialized training. All the subjects had done pre-test and post-test on body composition (BMI), flexibility (sit and reach), power (standing long jump), muscle strength (1 minute bent-knee sit-up), and cardiovascular endurance (1600m) tests before and after training. All the data were used to analyze the differences of pre-test and post-test between treatment group and control group through descriptive statistics and paired-sample t test and to analyze the rate of progress on each physical fitness items between treatment group and control group through independent-sample t test. After 8 weeks of core muscle training, the results of pre-test and post-test for treatment group had significant differences in flexibility (sit and reach), power (standing long jump), muscle strength (bent-knee sit-up), and cardiovascular endurance (1600m); while the result of body composition (BMI) had no significant difference. Then, after treatment group and control group underwent independent-sample t test, had significant differences in flexibility (sit and reach), muscle strength (bent-knee sit-up). And there were no significant differences in body composition (BMI), power (standing long jump), and cardiovascular endurance (1600m).
