The initial slump is 0 for the concrete can load the weight of machines before and after be compacted. It can use dump truck, bulldozer and vibrating roller to transport, pave and compact as use in earthwork, so it could bulkily and continuously pave, and further shorten the construction period.
The property of RCC is similar to ordinary concrete after hardening. Because the use of cement in unit volume in RCC is less than in ordinary concrete, not only reduce the amount of cement to achieve energy saving, but also the hydration heat, so the RCC very suit for mass concrete construction, especially concrete gravity dam. For the past few years, base on the view of economy construction, people gradually attached great importance to the construction method of RCC, there''re advantages like rapid construction, low cost and high applicability to use in general technique of dam construction. This research is subject to the experiment of proportion of RCC mixture for understanding the compressive strength and comparing with ordinary concrete.
It will be seen from research that the use of binder in RCC is less, and the compressive strength is higher, than ordinary concrete when the water-binder ratio is equal. This research is further obtain the best proportion as the compressive strength is first concern. Taking 28th target strength 210 kg/cm^2 for example, there''re two selections: water-binder ratio 0.5, fly ash substitution rate 50% and water-binder ratio 0.6, fly ash substitution rate 30%, which is more economy. The use of cement is 80-150 kg/m^3 in RCC.
