Another aim is to explore the work difficulties of counselors in junior high schools in order to fulfill their work responsibilities. Qualitative Research Method was applied. The semi-structured interview questionnaire was used as a major research method to collect eight junior high school counselors’ opinions. The results of the study show that duties of school counselors are to responsible for: preventing, group and individual guiding, case managing, mental counseling, an extension of the mental hygiene servicing, crisis intervening, setting the criteria for students’ professional growth and administrative assisting in guidance or other school affairs. The results indicate that the administrative assistance in guidance or other school affairs is much more complex and varied than others. The role expectations of a school counselor are being an educator, a helper, a connecter, a spreader and a counselor. Main career difficulties found from the study are school counselors’ career position and corporation between the administrative staffs and the professionals. Besides, the teacher in his or her first year of counselling or the teacher who has just switched into counselor role faces the problem as follows: the downfall of adopting the guidance program, the lack of related equipment, and the turmoil during the first period of the execution. Finally, based on the findings, researcher provided reflections and recommendations in training, progress, and supervising for relevant agencies and future research directions.
