Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 資訊科學與工程學系 === 103 === When people speak, they do not always use a word as a unit. They usually use several words as a pronunciation unit. When people read a paragraph, there will be pauses for the clarity of meaning or for the need of breath. Our research is to find these pauses to enhance speech synthesis systems. These pauses are divided into long pauses and short pauses. Previous research shows people are more sensitive to the long pauses. Hence this thesis focuses on finding these long pauses, which are the prosodic phrase(PP) pauses in the prosodic hierarchy. Our goal is to develop a model that will first transform the input text into a syntax tree, and then extract features and statistics from it. With such information it can find the most appropriate marks of prosodic phrase.
