Basketball is a very popular sport played by many people in Taiwan. This report gives an in-depth analysis and discussion on training for team matches, fast break and team offensive techniques, as well as details on applied run and gun tactics. Also illustrated are concepts behind run and gun tactics used in both full-court and half-court settings. Meanwhile, a basic theoretical foundation set by literature-based discussions serves as the organizational structure and concrete concept for this report.The hope is that the results of this study will serve as reference for coaches and players during their training, and help to enhance the overall level of basketball skills in Taiwan. There are six chapters in this report; the key points include:
Chapter I. Introduction: Focuses mainly on research background, purposes and issues, scope and limitations, as well as research methods (via observations and interviews).
Chapter II. Trends for the basketball sport: Introduces the origins and trends in contemporary basketball.
Chapter III. Theoretical basis and development factors for run and gun tactics: Mainly introduces the theoretical basis for the development of run and gun tactics.
Chapter IV. Introduction on training for team-matched offense: Mainly introduces fundamentals and training for team-matched offense.
Chapter V. Introduction on training for fast break tactics: Mainly introduces fundamentals and trainings for fast break tactics.
Chapter VI. Introduction on training for team-based offensive and defensive tactics: Mainly introduces fundamentals and training for team-based offensive and defensive tactics.
