The purposes of technician competition are to enhance students' skill levels, and understand the effect of vocational education. The subjects of study are senior high school teachers who were rewarded for commercial wiring category of national industry-related skills’ competition. The purpose of this study is to develop the contestant training strategy of commercial wiring from teachers’ viewpoints. This study through a literature review to build the basic structures of contestant training strategy. These structures of the whole training process are divided into seven stages: 1. Analyze the requirement of competition. 2. Basic training for training contestants. 3. Official selection of contestants. 4. Make training plan. 5. Carry out training. 6. Evaluate training effect. 7. Discussion and feedback of national industry-related skills competition. According to these seven structures of training strategy and expert review, we can develop the outline of the formal interview. Then we start to have a semi-structured and in-depth interview with teachers who were awarded the golden hand award more than three times from 1999 to 2013. From the interviews, we will know their training ways and skills. Finally, we can make use of Grounded Theory to generalize the information we collected and build the training strategy. The result of the study provides senior high vocational school teachers some ways to train contestants and teach skills. Meanwhile, it is also helpful for senior high vocational school students to advance their skill learning.
