Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 電機工程學系 === 103 === Because the internal resistance of a battery is the main cause resulting in the dissipation of joule heat, the charging current should be adjusted with the variation of internal resistance to maintain the thermal rising and protect the battery cycle life. According to the above reasons, this thesis presented a battery charging system based on the dissipation of the joule heat from the internal resistance. The proposed charging system included two major functions—online internal resistance measurement and dynamic charging current adjustment—which were implemented by digital signal controller dsPIC33FJ16GS502 from Microchip Technology Inc.. Through the predetermined charge dissipation parameter and online internal resistance measurement, the charger can adjust the charging current dynamically. Finally, two Samsung ICR18650-22F lithium-ion cells were employed in the experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed system has the ability of adjusting the charging current with the variation of the internal resistance to achieve the purpose of controlling the thermal rising in charging process.
