The propose of current study is to provide various understanding of LGBT for counselor field, also to help the LGBT counselors by offering the effective strategies found in the research. The researcher has interviewed four LGBT counselors, including two gays, one lesbian and one bisexual. In this research we found: (1) if LGBT counselors not showing their sexual orientation, their identity will be ignored in the workplace. This kind of context says they need strategies to make them “to be seen”. (2) The lack of related training in the counseling field, causes counselors not discussing LGBT issues in workplace, the neglect of importance of LGBT issue, dispute of LGBT issue, and also makes LGBT counselors worried about coming out in the workplace might offend co-workers or supervisors. (3) LGBT counselors experienced micro-aggression constantly in their career life, including being ignored or offended. This reminds us, stigma from society to LGBT still very influential. (4) Stigma brings dual-pressure to LGBT counselors, not only afraid of leaving stigma on themselves, but also expecting themselves to transcend the stigma as well. After realizing the context not happened lonely, few strategies which can affect the context have been found in the research: (1) Coming out in micro system. (2) Identification arouses strength.
