Porcine circovirus type 2’s (PCV2) sole infection is shown to be sufficient for the occurrence of PMWS. And it is markedly increase in mortality due to co-infection with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV). This research appllies PCV2 and PRRSV genome sequences to develop an expression vector containing the two viruses’ genes that can be expressed in the E. coli expression system. After immunizing mice with the purified fusion protein, individual mouse serum is subject to ELISA and dot blotting assay. The recombinant PCV2-PRRSV fusion protein is proven to be capable of inducing mice to generate the specific antibodies against PCV2 and PRRSV respectively. These data have laid the foundation of developing a bivalent subunit vaccine for preventing the PMWS occurrences in the future. Wen-Hsing Chang 張文興 學位論文 ; thesis 94 zh-TW
