The method of questionnaire survey was applied to collect data for this study. The instruments for this study were “Parent-child Relationship Scale, “Family Atmosphere Scale”, and “Well-being Scale”. Through cluster samling, the study got as data base 270 valid samples, which were chosen at random from the 7th, 8th, and 9th graders of eight junior high schools in chiayi City. The data was then analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, one-way ANOVA and stepwise multiple regression. The main findings of this study are as follows: 1. The current states of parent-child relationship, family atmosphere, and well-being of junior high school students are above average. 2. The 7th graders have better parent-child relationship, better attachment and better affection exchange than those of the 8th graders and the 9th graders. 3. Families with high socieconomic status have better parent-child relationship than families with low socieconomic status. 4. The 7th graders mostly have better family atmosphere than the 8th and 9th graders do. 5. Families atmosphere is greater in high socieconomic status families than in low socieconomic status ones. 6. The 7th graders are greater than the 8th and 9th graders in the aspect of well-being. 7. Families with high socieconomic status have superior well-being to families with low socieconomic status. 8. The relationships among parent-child relationship, family atmosphere and well-being are significant. 9. Parent-child relationship and family atmosphere of junior high school students could predict well-being. Finally, based on the findings, the study can be referred to in further researches and be applied in educational counseling in the future. Wang, Yii-Jen 王以仁 學位論文 ; thesis 124 zh-TW
