Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 海洋生物研究所 === 103 === Studies on the secondary metabolites from the soft coral, Sarcophyton trocheliophorm, collected off the coast of Orchid Island, Taiwan, have led to the isolation of three cembrane analogues, including two new cembranes, trocheliolides A (1) and B (2), and a known cembrane, (+)-isosarcophine (3). In addition, the soft coral, Nephthea chabrolii, collected off the coast of Southern Taiwan, yielded three known compounds, including a sterol, 24-methylenecholesterol (4), and two benzoquinone derivatives, chabrolohydroxybenzoquinone A (5) and 2,7-dimethyl-2-[E,E]-4',8',12'-trimethyl trideca-3',7',11'-trienyl]-2H-1-benzopyran-6-ol (6). The structures of above metabolites 1–6 were established by spectroscopic methods and by comparison of the spectroscopic data of these compounds with those of related metabolites. Compounds 1–6 were not cytotoxic toward various tumor cells. The possible activities of these compounds will be assayed in the future.
