Studies on the Secondary Metabolites from the Formosan Soft Coral Sinularia numerosa

碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 海洋生物研究所 === 103 === Studies on the chemical constituents of the cultured soft coral Sinularia numerosa have led to the isolation of five compounds, including three new norcembranoids, 4α-hydroxy-5-episinuleptolide (1), sinumerolide A (2) and 7E-sinumerolide A (3), along with two...

The structures of compounds 1-5 were established by spectroscopic method and by comparison of the spectral data with those known analogues. Compounds 1, 4 and 5 were found to show cytotoxicity toward various tumor cells. Compound 1 was found to display inhibition on effects on the release of elastase (IC50 = 5.68 μg/mL) by human neutrophils. Compounds 2, 3 and 5 were found to display inhibition the accumulation of the pro-inflammatory iNOS protein in the LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cells at a concentration of 10 μM.
