Our empirical evidences not only suggest that people with higher financial literacy would be more likely to purchase life insurance but also they seek advice and guidance from financial adviser, and converse with family members or friends are both positively related to the demand for life insurance. In addition, physiological characteristics, like age, gender, marriage, working status, and personal income are also key factors affecting the demand of life insurance. Finally, sponsored activities and finance-related education materials from the Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) education program can also increase the demand of life insurance.
