The results show that environmental organization cooperate with local TVs occasionally to educate for combating desertification issue for people at the local, due to the constraints of finances and the local televisions also broadcast a few program in disclosing messages for combating desertification issue to their audiences, despite that they realized the importance of their roles on the environmental issues. Although some herder interviewees had been victimized by the desertification, the overall level of knowledge toward appropriate land practice of citizen people at the study area for combating desertification issue is also low. The research also found that attitude of audiences toward media is positive and is expecting a higher intensity of environmental communication programs from local TV and environmental groups.
