碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系碩士班 === 103 === Abstract
I am a kindergarten teacher who loves dance. The research describes the implementation of a creative dance in my class, using action research to explore teaching and learning strategies and how to deal with challenges that occur during teaching.Research takes place during activities. The analysis draws on film, photos, the children’s dance-drawings, my own reflective teaching diary, and critical dialogue with a teaching colleague. Triangulation is used to cross-validate the data gathered.
Conclusions and recommendations fall into two categories:
Teaching strategies
(a) One such vary the teaching strategy and the location of teaching depending on the nature of the activity.
(b) The warm-up should warm the children’s hearts and minds as well as their bodies.
(c) Multiple sensory stimulation should be used to promote movement awareness and quality.
(d) Imagery should be used to facilitate movement motivation and to encourage their unique dance.
(e) Watching and appreciating the dance of others should be used to enhance the positive energy of learning.
Professional development for teachers:
(a) The teacher should be more sensitive and engage emotionally with the class and teaching.
(b) Young children should be invited and encouraged to be the owner of their dance.
(c) The children’s freedom of exploration should be encouraged, rather than working towards a specific outcome.
(d) Teachers ensure the young children understand the theme so as to engage their creativity fully.
I hope this study of creative dance teaching in a kindergarten will provide inspiration for teachers, and promote the knowledge of dance in early childhood, and its integration into early childhood education and teaching.
