Investigating the feelings of medical nurses who faced the dying patients. 2. Discussing the psychological experience of medical nurses who faced the dead patients. 3. Investigating the sentiments of death of medical who experienced patients’ death.   Search the database in Taiwan and China by keywords of “care” and “death”, most of the results about master’s thesis and journal articles were attention on the psychological adjustment of hospices wards or intensive care unit (ICU) nurses, less discussed the issues about psychological adjustment of the surgical and medical ward nurses, that highlights the importance of the study on discusses the psychological experience of medical ward nurses who confronted with dying patients.   The in-depth interviews were utilized as qualitative research method, involving 5 nurses who worked in medical ward more than 2 years, who had been experienced patients death. The patients of medical ward were mostly with chronic disease, long-term access to hospital for treatment, and eventually dead in the hospital. Medical ward nurses built up a deep relationship with these patients, when their patients dead they would have many feelings such as sadness, happy and other feelings. However, because of busy work, these nurses did not have much time to take care about their psychological needs, all of emotions occupied their mind and affected their life.   Referring to the research and analysis conclusion, medical nurses watched their patients’ health gradually decline toward death, although they were happy for these patients escaped from the torment, but also felt sad. In order not to generate a sad mood, these participants would avoid the space, or take an objective attitude to take care of patients, so that they could reduce the loss arising from the death of patients. On the other hand, the feelings arising from the death of patients, these participants would share with others or write down their feeling into words, in order to adapt the inner emotions. By participating the process of dying patients, these participants discovered that dead is everywhere, they understand the preciousness of life, adjust their attitude to life and the pace of live, cherish times with their families, and then demonstrate the value and meaning of their own lives.   Before and after the medical ward nurse experienced patients’ death, their opinions on life and death generating significant differences. The death of patients to remind these nurses the precious of life, making them more selflessly to their work about take care for patients, and cherish life of themselves and others.
