碩士 === 國立宜蘭大學 === 應用經濟與管理學系經營管理碩士班 === 103 === With the background of globalization, firms will face the situations about increasingly fierce competition, serious cost increases, changing demand in domestic and foreign markets, and gross profit reducing, etc. Under this situation, forward integration is one of the strategic choices for firms to maintain their competitiveness. The purposes of this study were through case studies and the collection of relevant literature to establish empirical framework, then development questionnaires to obtain empirical results. By the case study of three manufacturer, the study found that downstream products innovation ability, market development ability, middle market monopolistic, and the benefits of integration would impact the degree of forward integration, however, conflict with current customer is a negative moderator to the relationships mentioned above. Empirical results shows that downstream products innovation ability, market development ability, market development barriers, and the benefits of integration would positive impact the degree of forward integration.
