| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立宜蘭大學 === 建築與永續規劃研究所碩士班 === 103 === The purpose of this thesis is to study the current status and issues of spatial design, physical environment, architectural equipment and spares of the gymnasia via the investigation of the needs of events held in the gymnasia of the elementary schools in Yilan area.
1.There are 5 categories of the events in the gymnasia – gymnastic education, athletic competitions, performances, exhibitions, and rallies, with 97 items in total. The most important 14 events include basketball instruction, basketball contests, talent shows, morning meetings, flea market, badminton instruction, mat tumbling, campaigns, commencement, jumping rope, tee-ball, dance, dodge ball, and table tennis.
2.The configuration of the gymnasia include 8 typical space components, which are the main court, the stage, balcony overhangs, the backstage, the storage space of the athletic equipments, the restrooms, and the physical subsidiary space.
3.The main issue of the court size and configuration in this research is the lack of buffering area of the courts, and the insufficiency of court length and height which are pointed out in some cases. Besides, the indistinctness induced by the excessive court line marking for different sports to the court is the main issue of the court usage.
4.The storage space of the gymnasia should include the space for athletic equipments and for non- athletic equipments. However, it is a common issue that these equipments occupy the main court area due to the lack of storage space.
5.The main issues of the physical environment of the gymnasia are the interference of noise for the acoustic design, lighting insufficiency and dazzle for lighting design, stuffiness in summer for thermal and circulation design.
6.The equipments which are installed in the gymnasia consist of acoustic, lighting, and air-conditioning equipments. The spares contain athletic and non-athletic spares.
Finally, this research suggests the corresponding planning guides for the architecture of the gymnasia in elementary schools, which can be provided as the reference of the construction and renovation of the gymnasia in elementary schools.
