The traditional EOQ and EPQ models are to determine optimal inventory policies for retailers and vendors, respectively. However, such optimal policies are usually beneficial to one, but detrimental to the other. Hence, an integrated production-inventory model that maximizes their total profit is needed. The purpose of this paper is to investigate a single-vendor single-retailer production-inventory for products with imperfect quality and unequal batches. It is assumed that the order quantity of the retailer per cycle will be delivered to the retailer by the vendor with unequal batches where the first batch is smaller and each of subsequent batches is a fixed multiple of the first one. Besides, a 100% inspection process is conducted by the retailer to screen out the defectives contained in the received lot and the defectives screened out during the 100% inspection process will be returned to the vendor immediately. The model with a constant defective percentage is constructed. Then, by maximizing the expected annual integrated total profit, the optimal number of shipments in a cycle and the optimal size of each shipment are determined.
