This thesis starts from this concept and investigates the special space presented in the works, which transgress from the actual space . The research objects are The Visitor: Living by Numbers and Street Ghosts. Using Merleau-Ponty’s conception of body image and synesthesia investigates image space and using Sartre’s conception of imagination, Iser’s conception of fictional text and divination theory investigates the relationship between the works and the viewers. In the beginning, this study examines the elements in the works by direct observation to discuss the Visitor’s panorama image presenting a deformed and operational actual space and Street Ghosts’ humanoid figure suggesting a double space in the city street. Then, according to the panorama image and collage points out the technical problems of the works, which could support the idea that the technique of work is content of work, rather than just a message carrier. Finally, this thesis discusses the relationship between the viewers and the work, these two works are fictional structures transgressing the actual space that lead to the imagination of viewers.
