It investigates the relationships among the perceptions of the principal’s change leadership role, the principal’s strategic leadership, school organizational culture, and school organizational effectiveness. The purposes of the study are to understand the actual situations in the relationships among the principal’s change leadership role, the principal’s strategic leadership, school organizational culture, and school organizational effectiveness. It also analyzes if obvious differences exist when junior high school teachers from different backgrounds perceive the above variables. Furthermore, it investigates the connections among the variables. The study built up theories for the discussion of relevant literature and research structure, which were used as the basis of designing research tools. The questionnaire survey method was used in this study. Forty-nine (49) junior high schools were samples selected from Taiwan 769 junior high schools as the research subjects, and 917 effective questionnaires were obtained. The effective rate of recovery is about 79.05%. Researcher self-edited “principal’s change leadership role, principal’s strategic leadership questionnaire, school organizational culture and school organizational effectiveness questionnaire” were used as the research tool. The datas are analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation , stepwise multiple regression and structural equation models(SEM). Research conclusions obtained are as follows. 1.Junior high school teachers' perceptions of the performance of the principal’s change leadership role, the principal’s strategic leadership, school organizational culture, and school organizational effectiveness are above the average. 2.Among the variables, “competitor”, “controlling environment”, “rational market culture” , and “efficiency of external procedure” are perceived better by junior high school teachers. 3.Male, a teacher and also a director, in large schools, female principals, school with the principal having more than five years of service, have higher perception of the principal’s change leadership role, the principal’s strategic leadership, school organizational culture, and school organizational effectiveness. The other background variables exist obvious differences in part of the above variables. 4.High positive correlations exist among the principal’s change leadership role, the principal’s strategic leadership, school organizational culture, and school organizational effectiveness. 5.The principal’s change leadership role, the principal’s strategic leadership, and school organizational culture have remarkable predictive power on school organizational effectiveness. Among them, “clan culture” predicts school organizational culture best. 6.The principal’s change leadership role can pose positive influence on school organizational effectiveness, through the mediated effect of principal’s strategic leadership and school organizational culture . 7.The principal’s change leadership role, the principal’s strategic leadership, and school organizational culture have goodness of fit ,and they have a positive influence. Finally, according to the results, the study provides specific recommendations for educational authorities, junior high school principals,and reference for the subsequent related research.
