Through classification and reorganization using Affinity Diagram, we do deeper to discuss the usage of Surrealism to establish the theoretical foundation of this study. At last, with the environmental protection of Taiwan as the theme, posters are created and works are established to manifest the value of this research. This study will be carried out through three aspects. To begin with, documentary investigations on the ideas and essence of Surrealism are utilized to analyze the surrealistic style and its techniques. Second, 443 PSAs of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) are arranged into 211 samples to induce the application of surrealistic techniques on PSAs of WWF. And last, income of this research will be employed on the productions of environmental protection of Taiwan to arouse environmental consciousness and provide a navigation for future creators. Three main conclusions can be drawn from the research. First, Surrealism is a culture movement that aims at “human nature”. Its thoughts exclude all rational controls and transcend every aesthetic and morality concern to fully express the subconscious impulse and imagery. Second, WWF’s PSAs are multivariate; surrealistic styles and methods are often used and the content mostly represents the environmental issues that should be taken seriously nowadays. That is, these productions mostly possessed strong moralizing implications and give people lessons. Third, surrealistic techniques are employed, Photoshop CS5 are applied for compositing images; materials and objects that we are familiar with are also made use. These means are integrated to design posters on environmental protection of Taiwan with expectations to take “localization of global environmental issues” as an appeal to evoke peoples’ love for the land, Taiwan.
