However, the interpretation is not seen the active participation of community input in current community ecotourism. This research proposes to explore willingness and difficulties of participation of ecotourism interpretation activities by the views of community residents. The purpose of this study was to explore the motivation, willingness and difficulty encountered of residents to participate interpretation services of Kao-mei wetland ecotourism area. In additional, it could provide ecotourism strategic and reference on the conservation plan to achieve sustainable tourism development for government agencies. This study used qualitative methods of semi-structured interviews conducted with field observations. The data was collected by purposive and snowball sampling of local residents in Kao-mei Taichung City community. The results showed the abundant biodiversity of Kao-mei wetland favors the development of ecotourism was recognized by local residents. Also interpretation training activities were agreed. The encountered difficulties of development interpretation activities include lack of transparent message, long-term planning and management, precise certification system, and single unit service. The researcher suggested that the government should intervene to integrate community organizations and resources, bring specific development strategies, create local characteristics, and promote jointly planning education and interpretation programs. In addition to introduce long-term counseling expert groups, establish a sound mechanism to interpretation training, create community developing ecotourism resources and potential, increase interpretation facilities, strengthen environmental education and conservation interpretation, and develop a model of ecological community operation.
