碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 景觀暨遊憩管理研究所 === 103 === Over the past few decades, the countries of the world has been responded to the call of environment protection and developed environmental regulations, promoting the concept of green building and green roof , trying to save the severely destructed earth by implementing new ideas involving sustainable development and energy saving and carbon reduction. Taiwan established green building in 1999 and join the World Green Infrastructure Network (WGIN). The development of green building and green roof in Taiwan is relative late.This study investigates the progress of the promotion of the said idea to the ordinary people and how many citizens has ever received such information from the government. The study applied the methods including literature review and questionnaire survey. The questionnaire survey focuses on the investigation of the five cognitive aspects of people such as the efficiency of green building, the efficiency of green roof, the design and management of green roof, and the policy promotion by the government. The study listed the cognitive levelof people on the knowledge about green building and green roof, proposing a useful reference for government to establish related policy.
