Participants consisted of 772 college students in Taiwan. The instruments applied in this study included the Dispositional Resilience Scale (DRS), the Mental Health Continuum Scales(MHC-SF), and the Test of Mobile-phone Dependence Scales (TMD). The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test and structural equation modeling(SEM). The main results revealed that: 1. Female students reported higher scores than male students in "time spent using mobile phone eachday", "time spent sending/receiving text messages each day "," time spent using social network application each day " and " time spent using instant message applicationeach day". Besides, there were no difference between male and female students in " time spent making/receiving calls each day ", " time spent using Bulletin Board System each day ", " time spent sending email each day" and " time spent playing game via mobile phone each day". 2. As to heavymobile phone use, female college students’ scores onheavymobile phone use were significantly higher than that of male college students. 3. The analytical results of structural equation models were as follows: (1) Hardiness had positive effect on well-being and well-being mediated the relationship between hardiness and heavy mobile phoneuse. (2) The negative effect of hardiness on heavy mobile phone use is significant. (3) The positive effect of well-being onheavy mobile phone use is significant. Based on the results of this study, some suggestions for college students, practitioners and researchers are recommended. Yu, Sen-Chi 游森期 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 111 zh-TW
