Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系早期療育碩士班 === 103 === This study aims to discuss the improvement of parental capability toward disabled child in the low income family through demonstration and instruction by coaching. This is an action study. The researcher first discussed the parental needs with the parents, and arranged the priority. Then they cooperated and negotiated together to carry out, adjust and modify the activity process. Through observation, interview, video recording and worksheet, this study analyzed the influence of the parental capability toward disabled child in the low income family, and explored the growth of parental capability. The contents of this action study are as follows: 1. Interviews were conducted to understand the deficient parental capability and skills at present, and determine the priority order for parental needs, thus constructing the basic parental capability and skills. 2. Considering the economic situation of low income family, this study utilized the existing equipment in household and community resources, in order to promote the interaction and learning on the parent roles. 3. The parental capability was improved in areas of “environmental cleanness and arrangement”, “toilet hygiene”, “parent-child reading and communication” and “stable walking”. After the intervention, parents were able to adjust their work schedule and spend more time to accompany and instruct the children. Meanwhile, the routine activities or relevant strategies were used to offer practice opportunities to promote growth and learning. 4. After the intervention, parents established parental concept, and enhanced their confidence in parenting. They could lead activities or give support and assistance to infants. During the process of instruction and accompanying, parents could make the adjustment according to child requirement or their own conditions. In order to maintain the due normativity and attitude in learning, the activities were properly enhanced or diminished.
