A questionnaire was administered to survey current statuses of principal’s positive leadership and school’s organizational performance, analyze differences across demographic variables, and explore the predicting power of each variable. The results could be a reference for school leaders and future researchers. The sample population comprised incumbent teachers in public elementary schools in Nantou County. The instrument was a “Questionnaire on Principal’s Positive Leadership and School’s Organizational Performance”. 690 questionnaires were administered. 596 responses were collected, and 551 of which were valid, resulting in a valid response rate of 79.86%. The responses were analyzed by means, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The main findings of this research were as follows: 1.Among elementary schools in Nantou County, teachers perceived an intermediate-to-high level of positive leadership of their principal. 2.Among elementary schools in Nantou County, teachers perceived an intermediate-to-high level of organizational performance of their school. 3.The teachers’ perception of their principal’s positive leadership varied by position and school size, and was not affected by gender, age, length of service, education degree or school location. 4.The teachers’ perception of their school’s organizational performance varied by gender, position, and school size, and was not affected by age, length of service, education degree or school location. 5.Principal's positive leadership was significantly and positively related to school’s organizational performance. 6.Principal’s positive leadership was a predictor of school’s organizational performance. Based on the above findings, this study also provided suggestions to school administrations, educators, and future researchers. Liu,Chung-Ching 劉仲成 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 205 zh-TW |
