When there's trouble in life, on the occasion of major ceremony, will seek the assistance of fortune-tellers. But few people know how fortune-teller comes? What kind of professional skills needed to become a fortune-teller? Why tellers able to master magic techniques for people over to help them? In this study, we want to understand future-tellers’ background, training methods, and standards of practice required skills. In addition, we attempt to know why cannot institutionalized or license numerology of industry, in order to facilitate unified management or learning. The subjects were fortune-tellers server in Taipei and Hsinchu area, including different numerology tools. Study method would be case study research. On the results of the analysis found: Difficult to classify the reason that how fortune-tellers enter numerology industry, but we can divide them into self-study and apprentice in two main ways of learning. Besides of professional numerology skill, both attach great importance to eloquence and expressiveness, and as an integral part of the practice of skills. For numerology apprenticeship training methods, both have the concept of a systematic conception of teaching; levied on apprenticeship qualifications are not far. The difference between self-learning and apprentice fortune-tellers is the difficulty of learning and assessment standards for apprenticeship numerology. Self-learning tellers are due to fewer resources in the learning process, so train apprentice is also more stringent. In addition, the study shows that their expertise in content knowledge is not consistent with numerology, numerology and various internal tools discrepancy is too large, it is difficult to have a unified and systematic management of licenses.
