And now, Chinshan nuclear power plant face two challenges, one is the space of spent fuel pool to place spent fuel will be filled. Another is after Fukushima accident, NRC suggested to remove the spent fuel that cooling beyond ten years to decrees the power loading of spent fuel pool. For those reasons, Chinshan nuclear power plant not only need to conduct dry storage for spent fuel as soon as possible, but also need to plan the fuel that wasn’t considered in the first stage of dry storage for dry storage. Therefore, the purpose of the study was built the thermal methodology of dry storage system for Chinshan nuclear power plant by CFD. And the methodology can not only be used in analyzing different powering loading pattern of spent fuel, but also different dry storage conditions like: normal condition, air channel fully blocked and transport state. After validated the methodology by the measurement data of VSC-17 and compared with SAR for Chinshan nuclear power plant[1], the results indicated the methodology is reliable to be used in thermal-hydraulic analysis methodology of dry-storage system for Chinshan nuclear power plant Key words: Dry storage system of Chinshan nuclear power plant, CFD, Spent Nuclear Fuel.
