This study aims at being close to teenagers’ growth through researching on Guan Jia-Qi’s novels. Affective teaching can be developed through Guan Jia-Qi’s youth novels and help and guide teenagers timely when they are confused and helpless. Teachers can use them as teaching materials to guide students to keep physically and mentally balanced, which helps teenagers get correct directions during their growth. The thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter One, Introduction, uses the perspective of affective education to explain the motive and objective of this study and research into study range and methods. Chapter Two, analysis of the characters in Guan Jia-Qi’s youth novels, analyzes the teenager’s character to see whether he can grow up smoothly and the people around him to discuss whether they are a help or an obstacle to him, which presents the issues the teenager encounters during his growth. Chapter Three, a discussion on affective teaching of Guan Jia-Qi’s youth novels, states the theory, meaning, principles and objective of affective education and then explains that affective teaching is a teaching type to guide students’ affective development. Through life practices, Guan Jia-Qi’s youth novels develop students’ affective education and cultivate healthy personalities to achieve the objective of affective education. Chapter Four, the application of Guan Jia-Qi’s youth novels on affective teaching, presents the application of Guan Jia-Qi’s youth novels to match affective teaching. In terms of “studies”, it promotes tolerance of frustration in the negative aspect, and it cultivates the attitude toward learning happily in the positive aspect. In terms of “non-studies”, it talks about understanding and accepting one’s own physiology and psychology and also talks about communication and building up interpersonal relationship and having the ability to share resources with others. Chapter Five, conclusion, concludes this thesis and proposes future prospect; it is hoped that Guan Jia-Qi’s youth novels can help affective teaching on teenagers.
