Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 語文與創作學系華語文教學碩士班 === 103 === Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL) is found to be both expansive and extensive. Courses providing Basic Professional Knowledge (BPK) training in TCSL, such as “Introduction to TCSL” course offered by National Taipei University of Education (NTUE), make those interested in TCSL get deep insight of it. Note that such the courses should include both theoretical and practical aspect. This case-studying work undertakes in the course “Introduction to TCSL” offered by NTUE during fall 2014. The instructor and the students enrolled, also known as pre-service teachers, serve as research subject. Based on the cone of experience model, this 5-month-long research is to build the new cone model of teaching and acquiring BPK in TCSL, respectively. The researcher employed the methodology including process involved participant observation, interview, and in-class activities, i.e. homework, quiz, exam, etc., to collect data, and systematic approach to analyze and then build both the teaching and acquiring cone. The results have shown that the instructors who stick to the “teaching cone model” could instruct students with BPK effectively. This work also clarifies the criteria that instructors should meet to qualify to teach the BPK in TCSL. For example, the qualified instructors should not only master the “teaching cone model”, but also have background knowledge in multiple fields, keen observation make instant adjustment in teaching, etc. For the further study, it is suggested that more emphasis should be put on enhancement of interactive between students and teacher. Hopefully, this work should provide as a reference for the future teaching of BPK in TCSL.
