Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中科技大學 === 室內設計系碩士班 === 103 === By integrating the concept of bionic design into product design, this work could not only eternalize the beauty of Nature, but also add pleasure to human life. This work thus used butterfly orchids--the &;quot;Queen of Orchids&;quot; in Taiwan--as the research subject of its bionic design. By analyzing the shape features and physical structures of butterfly orchids through morphological analyses, structural analyses, texture analyses, structural color analyses and functional analyses, and with the help of bionic and evolutionary designs, the designer was able to create orchid-shaped lights, with the aim to demonstrate the shape and structure of orchids, as well as to display the visual aesthetics. Five household lights (including a chandelier, a desk lamp, a wall light, a floor lamp and a working lamp) that embodied the bionic beauty of orchids were then produced through the use of energy saving and environmental friendly materials. Three mathematical aesthetic principles of orchids (including those on pentagons, triangles and curves) were summarized from these works. It is hoped that they could serve as reference models for relevant lamp designs in the future.
