碩士 === 國立臺中科技大學 === 室內設計系碩士班 === 103 === Garden-style cafés integrated with the spirit of sustainable design tend to be found in the city and countryside in Taichung Metropolitan Area. They not only sell high-quality coffee but also boast garden views with the wild atmosphere of nature that enable consumers to obtain psychological stress relief and a pleasant sense of healing. Therefore, this study intended to investigate how these garden-style cafés enable consumers to obtain a psychological sense of healing through their color presentation of the overall environment. This study selected five garden-style cafés in Taichung Metropolitan Area as the subjects, and analyzed environmental colors from the perspectives of modernology and color psychology to further summarize the color composition models of these five cafés. It was hoped that such models could be provided as a reference for the future color design of relevant environments. The conclusions of this study are the following: 1) Creating a sense of healing space for a café can choose natural, simple, soft, relaxing, and joyful colors. It is also notice that design of outdoor garden should be consistent with indoor atmosphere. 2) Using natural colors in the garden-style cafés is able to create comfortable, leisurely, and relaxing feeling for customers. 3) The garden is a transitional space between the street and a café. When busy people go through the garden, it creates a happiness and calm atmospheres. In addition, the garden also provide a great view which make customers feel pleasant, bright, fresh, cool, and color synesthesia.
