Through this thesis, the author hopes to clarify creation issues, and thereby creating an architectural framework of the work. This thesis can be seen as an analogy of a medical diagnosis, this paper takes on a more lively writing style, using medical terms for chapter names. For example, Chapter One is called “Registration and First Visit Registration”, Chapter Three is called “Prescription”, and Chapter Four is called “Medical Records”, all of which are medical terms. The author’s works are all based on the imagination of bodies. Through the implementation of a weight-loss plan and recording of the author’s weight-loss progress, the author projects various imaginations regarding the changes in body lines. In addition to focusing on the physical aspects of weight-loss that can be seen externally, the author puts even more emphasis on psychological and emotional expressions, creating the two respective series, The Pool of Oil After Catalysis and Smudging 2.54. The text is divided into four chapters according to the creative vision, plan, practice, and result. The first chapter serves as an overview of the creative motivation and purpose, explaining how the early creative research transformed into the present works. The second chapter presents the author’s creative concept before elaborating on the respective origins of the creative ideas of the two series. The third chapter depicts the author’s views towards weight-loss. Referencing the relevant fundamental medical concepts, the author further discusses the differences between historical and modern people’s aesthetic values. Finally, by finding various works with themes similar to that of the author’s works, as well as artists whose works are related to visual vocabulary and bodies, the author introduces the contents which were referenced and served as influence. The fourth chapter depicts the methods and techniques of printmaking mediums in the overall creative plan. Then, the different creative mediums are classified according to the two series. Finally, as conclusion, the author illustrates the results and experiences recorded and practiced in the creative planning process.
