碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 中國音樂學系 === 103 === 　　 ‘The Brave Spirits of Snow Mountains’ is the last erhu works from Liu Wen-Jen. As the century progressed, the skill and cogitation of current composer getting matured, why Liu Wen-Jen’s works still valued to the current music industry? And this had initiated the motivation to the author doing the research on this piece 　 　 Through the collection and sorting of literature and audiovisual materials, “Inheritance, learn, explore, Innovation” is considered as the conclusion of Liu Wen-Jen’s composing works over his life. Due to his personal background and working environment, his works are integrated of Western and Chinese cultural, by emphasis on “Humanity Conception, easy to be understand without ignore the elegant of music”, through a wide range of topics, flexible musical form, giving his works more vitality. 　　 ‘The Brave Spirits of Snow Mountains’ is based on a mass memory of historical issue as a theme, through the music performance to depict characters with inner feelings. It is an erhu concerto with tone-picture style, the music form is single-movement multiple-form format, divide into four sections according to its title, which are [A Journey], [B Snow Mountains], [C Comrade], [D Morning Glow]. 　　The author analyze the piece into four sections, which are, the musical structure, melody, relationship between rhythm and accompaniment and harmony. Further analysis of the interpretation of the music through the image of music by paragraphs, experience the life of human and things have not been experienced. This is not only the technique issue, it include of musical language, humanities care, emotional experience and the different aspects of metastasis. For the future of composing, teaching and performance, challenges are always there been waiting, and this is the trend of new century erhu development.
