Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 工業管理系 === 103 === Following by the rapid innovation of product functions, manufacturers develop new products quickly. For example, apple releases new-generation i-Phone in averagely less than one year. From consumer’s point of view, since the rapid innovation of product functions, consumer replaces existing product with a new product frequently. Comparatively, the usage period of product is becoming shorter, that is why many second-hand products are on the market now. Therefore, this paper investigates the optimal replacement and preventive maintenance policies of the second-hand product under a finite planning horizon (FPH). Consider that consumer plans to replace once for existing product under FPH. Any failure of products is rectified by a minimal repair. After replacing the product, consumer performs periodical preventive maintenance to avoid product failure. Under these maintenance strategies, the mathematical formula of the expected total cost for products under FPH is derived, and then the optimal policies are obtained such that the expected total disbursement cost is minimized.
