In the last decade, the mobile and hand-held devices were still expensive with few users; however almost everyone holds at least one such item in Taiwan, and the price is quite acceptable. From this example, it clearly shows the evolution and changes of the electronic devices. As the technology evolves, the major manufacturers, such as Intel in the processor domain and Microsoft in the operation system (OS) domain, keep on innovating, optimizing and improving their products. At the same time, the consumers undoubtedly change their preferences and needs accordingly. The main objective of this thesis is to increase the battery life, which is one of the most concerned issues of consumers. The majority of the consumer groups nowadays are mobile or business people, which use the computing devices for applications, such as word processing or surfing the Internet. The experimental results showed the feasibility of this architecture and the proposed architecture can be used in the current consumer and commercial notebooks, tablet PCs and any universal system.
