Comparing with 2-D spreading codes, traditional one-dimensional (1-D) spreading codes are difficult to design and have low cardinality and complex coding construction, thus many researchers recently proposed the new coding constructions for 2-D spreading codes rather than 1-D spreading codes. Since 1-D spreading codes are also irreplaceable in the design and applications of system architectures, a new family of 1-D spreading codes is proposed to overcome the design issues in the thesis. The proposed 1-D spreading code is mainly constructed by using a one-to-one correspondence transfer method, which can systematically convert 2-D codes into 1-D codes, thus the coding method not only improves the encoding efficiency but also lessens the drawback of generating 1-D spreading codes hard. Moreover, the computer simulation of two proposed O-CDMA schemes with on-off keying (OOK) and pulse position modulation (PPM) coding modulation techniques, respectively, are provided by using Matlab program. In addition to the simulation results, the system performance of both schemes are also analyzed and compared with the simulation results to identify the feasibility and validity of both proposed schemes.
